But the recent high court judgment is really a landmark victory for half a lakh highly skilled Indian workers in UK. High court categorically ruled that it was not open to the government to alter the terms and conditions of highly skilled Indian workers in UK. Campus interview requires thorough homework Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan Recent findings revealed that major industries in the country are interested to recruit 65 percent freshers to meet their manpower needs. As far as small industries are concerned, this is around 35 percent. This trend is more pronounced in the IT and IteS industry in the country. Around 7.4 lakh IT professionals are working in the country. Annual growth rate in this sector is around 16 percent. While analyzing the placement statistics, during the year 2007, TCS, Satyam computers and Infosys recruited 65-75 freshers. Of the total recruitment made, infosys recruited around 75 percent freshers. Patni recruited around 35 percent fresh graduates. It can be due to new immigration policies, recognition of IELTS throughout the English speaking world and entrance requirements & criteria for admission. IELTS tests are conducted 48 times per year. Recent study done by KPMG revealed that KPO i.e., Knowledge process outsourcing in financial services is expected to be worth 5 billion US dollars by 2010. It may be due to the success in off shoring business operations. India is expected to remain a preferred location for KPO activity in future.
